What are the benefits of Head Spa

Regular scalp treatments offer a range of benefits that contribute to overall scalp and hair health. Here are several reasons why someone should consider incorporating them into their routine:

  • Promotes Hair Growth: Regular treatments can stimulate blood circulation to the hair follicles, encouraging hair growth and reducing hair thinning. Reduces Stress: Scalp treatments provide a relaxing experience that can alleviate stress and tension, contributing to overall well-being and potentially reducing stress-related hair loss.

  • Improves Scalp Health: Treatments help maintain a clean and balanced scalp by removing buildup of sebum, dead skin cells, and product residue, which can prevent issues like dandruff or irritation.

  • Enhances Hair Texture: Regular care can lead to healthier, shinier hair by improving moisture retention and overall hair condition. Balances Oil Production: Scalp treatments can help regulate oil production, preventing both excessively oily or dry scalps, which can impact hair health.

  • Addresses Scalp Conditions: For those with specific scalp issues like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, or dandruff, regular treatments can help manage and alleviate symptoms.

  • Increases Product Efficacy: A healthy scalp allows for better absorption of hair care products, maximizing their effectiveness and benefits.

  • Encourages Relaxation and Self-Care: Taking time for regular scalp treatments promotes a self-care routine, which can enhance mental health and relaxation.

  • Supports Lymphatic Drainage: Treatments can stimulate lymphatic flow, helping to detoxify the scalp and reduce puffiness or inflammation. Incorporating regular scalp treatments into your routine can provide significant benefits for both scalp health and overall hair vitality.

How long should I expect to be in the salon?

For every head spa appointment, we require an additional 30mins for the consultation and the follow up. So if you are booked for a 60min Signature session for example, please plan to be in our salon for a total of 90 minutes.

How long/strong is the massage?

Please do not mistake our Head Spa as a "massage.” MASA.KANAI is not a massage parlor. Since our specialists are working and touching your head and scalp throughout the service, the process may feel like a massage. However, our Head Spa methodology was never designed or intended to be a massage. Our concept is rooted in a holistic approach for scalp therapy and relaxation . We cannot accommodate requests for stronger/longer massages as massages are not the focus of our Head Spa concept.

Can my friend and I get the Head Spa done at the same time?

Unfortunately, we can only accommodate one guest at a time in our private room for our Head Spa; as such, multiple appointments would have to be either back-to-back or at different times/dates.

Are blow outs included?

A blow out is not included with the Head Spa. Our service will end with a damp dry and no styling. Our providers are not hair stylists.

Will the Head Spa affect my hair color/keratin?

All of our ingredients are safe for any kind of treated hair! However, if you had recently done any kind of chemical services within a week before your Head Spa appointment, there is a chance that the color/keratin may lift during our detoxing process. Therefore, we recommend customers to wait at least a week after any kind of hair treatment before receiving a Head Spa.

We also recommend waiting at least a week after having a Head spa before doing any kind of chemical services. You wouldn’t want to apply chemicals to a freshly cleaned scalp!

Can you do a Head Spa for all hair types?

Our specialist is experienced with all types of hair from thin & fragile, thick & coarse, wavy, curly, porous, to even bald! However, the hair itself is actually not so much of a concern as we will be primarily focusing on the scalp during the Head Spa. At the end of the day, the Head Spa is a scalp treatment. As long as you have a scalp, we can give you a head spa. We only ask you to make sure that we have proper access to the scalp.

We cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these obstruct access to the scalp and pores.

Is the Head Spa safe for expecting mothers?

Our Head Spa uses completely organic and natural ingredients; therefore, it is completely safe for pregnant customers. However, some guests may be concerned about being exposed to certain herbs and oils such as lavender while they are expecting. Therefore, it would be best to consult your doctor to see if there is anything you should avoid. Another concern would be that we require guests to lay completely flat on your back during the whole duration of the service. If this is something you are unable to do, then it may be best to wait until after the delivery before trying the head spa.

Can I record myself during the service?

Once in the Head Spa private room, all cell phone usage will be prohibited. Please set your phone to silent mode and set it aside before starting the appointment.
